I’m honored to co-sponsor the Memoriam Citation celebrating the life of well –known native leader Clarence Jackson, the last serving founder of
Sealaska and the Sealaska Heritage Institute. On Friday, February 1, 2013, members of the Senate Floor expressed that Jackson was “a warm and
wise human being” and had “touched a lot of lives in Southeast.”

Services for Clarence were held in Juneau on February 2, 2013 at the Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall, with an additional service held in Kake, Alaska on
February 5, 2013. The citation honoring Clarence will be adopted by the Legislature in the coming days.
