Alaska’s First Lady, Sandy Parnell is continuing the annual tradition that began with First Lady Bella Hammond to honor the many Alaskans who choose to serve others through charitably donating their time and skills to needy individuals and organizations in our state. First Lady Parnell is asking Alaskans to help recognize their fellow citizens who have shown extraordinary volunteer service and made a positive impact on their community. If you know a volunteer who deserves to be recognized, nominate them for a volunteer of the year award. Nominations are due by March 1st and forms are available online at:
http://gov.alaska.gov/parnell_media/volunteer_awards/2013_nomination.pdf.
An executive committee made up of Alaskans will select award recipients from the list of nominees and winners will be honored at a ceremony in May.
