A painting of the late Senator Ted Stevens, commissioned by the Alaska Legislature, has recently been completed by Alaskan artist Dean Larson. The portrait will be displayed in the Alaska State Capitol. Senator Stevens served our state in the United States Senate for 40 years. He also served in the Alaska State House from 1965 through 1968 – the last two years as House majority leader.
Stevens’ death in 2010 was a shock to the entire state. “Uncle Ted” will forever be remembered for his tenacity and love for Alaska. The portrait will be hung on the second floor of the Capitol, and will serve as a reminder of Stevens’ commitment to this state and its bright future.
