Congratulations to the four outstanding Ketchikan individuals who were recently honored by Women in Safe Homes (WISH) for their outstanding accomplishments in making a significant difference in the lives of others. Charlotte Glover, Tris Nausid, Elizabeth Nelson and Alma Parker were honored at the 5th Annual Women of Distinction Dinner last Saturday, February 9th at the Ted Ferry Civic Center. Special Guests in attendance were Governor Parnell and First Lady Sandy Parnell. All proceeds from the event help to support the mission of Women in Safe Homes to provide a safe place, advocacy and education for people impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse or stalking, and to assist them as they explore their options in southern Southeast Alaska. Again, congratulations to Charlotte, Tris, Elizabeth and Alma for their outstanding service to their community.
