Today, the Senate Finance Committee heard testimony from the three major North Slope oil producers: ConocoPhillips, BP, and ExxonMobil.
The three companies gave testimony and responded to questions from committee members on the specific provisions of the Senate’s oil tax bill, SB 192, as well as more general information about global investment strategies, impacts of tax regimes on corporate decision making, the level of increased investment needed to arrest or possibly reverse the North Slope oil production decline (currently around 6% annual decline), and a range of other topics related to oil and gas.
The Senate Finance Committee heard testimony from the general public on SB 192 on Monday.
Copies of ConocoPhillips’ and BP’s presentation can be accessed online here. (ExxonMobil did not provide a PowerPoint presentation, preferring to deliver their comments verbally.)
