Last Friday I was honored to receive the Associated Builders & Contractors of Alaska (ABC) Legislator of the Year Award. ABC represents 175 construction companies throughout our state and is dedicated to improving the competitiveness of Alaska’s construction industry.
During the past several years I’ve worked hard to ensure Alaska’s infrastructure needs are addressed and Alaska contractors have the work needed to keep our state’s economy moving forward. As Co-Chair of the Senate Finance Committee, I’ve worked with colleagues to produce capital budgets that increase state savings and fund vital public works projects that put Alaskans to work building our state. This has helped ensure Alaskan families have the ability to meet their financial obligations while the lower 48 has experienced the worst economic slowdown since the Great Depression.
I’m honored by ABC’s award and look forward to continue working to develop Alaska’s infrastructure next session.
