{"id":709,"date":"2010-05-06T15:17:27","date_gmt":"2010-05-06T23:17:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bertstedman.com\/new\/?p=709"},"modified":"2010-11-17T16:48:46","modified_gmt":"2010-11-18T01:48:46","slug":"capital-budget-transmitted-to-the-governor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/bertstedman.com\/new\/?p=709","title":{"rendered":"Capital Budget Back-up Transmitted to the Governor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The supporting back-up for the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.legis.state.ak.us\/basis\/get_bill.asp?bill=SB%20230&amp;session=26\" target=\"_blank\">FY2011 Capital Budget<\/a> was sent to the governor today for his review.\u00a0\u00a0 As co-chair of the Senate Finance Committee I helped manage the appropriations process and worked with colleagues to construct the Capital Budget.\u00a0 We approached this year\u2019s budget with three objectives in mind: save before spending, put Alaskans to work, and address our state\u2019s significant infrastructure needs.\u00a0 Alaskans can be confident that the budget we\u2019ve sent to the Governor is responsible and will improve the quality of life in our state.<\/p>\n<p>The capital budget appropriates $3.08 billion for public safety, transportation, education and economic development projects around the state.
