{"id":264,"date":"2010-01-27T14:30:33","date_gmt":"2010-01-27T23:30:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bertstedman.com\/new\/?p=264"},"modified":"2010-11-17T16:20:53","modified_gmt":"2010-11-18T01:20:53","slug":"legislature-passes-low-speed-vehicle-bill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/bertstedman.com\/new\/?p=264","title":{"rendered":"Legislature Passes Low-Speed Vehicle Bill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bertstedman.com\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/LSV2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-272 alignright\" title=\"LSV\" src=\"http:\/\/bertstedman.com\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/LSV2-300x245.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"231\" height=\"187\" \/><\/a>The Legislature passed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.legis.state.ak.us\/basis\/get_bill.asp?bill=SB%20%2059&amp;session=26\" target=\"_blank\">Senate Bill 59<\/a> this week.\u00a0 Low-speed vehicles provide effective and sustainable transportation options for Alaskans.\u00a0 I sponsored this bill to expand road access for low-speed vehicles in Alaska communities.\u00a0 There are currently over a dozen of these vehicles operating in Southeast communities.\u00a0\u00a0 Estimates from DOT suggest this bill will open an additional 30 miles of road throughout Southeast to these vehicles.\u00a0 I\u2019m pleased the legislature <a href=\"http:\/\/aprn.org\/2010\/02\/02\/lawmakers-pass-bill-promoting-electric-cars\/\" target=\"_blank\">enacted<\/a> this bill, and hope it will improve sustainable transportation in our region.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Legislature passed Senate Bill 59 this week.
